How to diagnose 661566 thermostat:
Burns marks could be visible on heating element.Even without burn marks, the heating element could still be defective.
Check the ohms reading with a voltage meter with heating element disconnected from dishwasher, with meter set at ohms touch each terminal end with probes from meter.
If element is good, the meter arm will swing to the right and read close to zero ohms.
if element is bad, the meter arm will remain still, this is telling you that there is a open circuit in the element and it will not function .
Repair help:
The thermostat controls the heating element at the bottom of dishwasher tub. Check this thermostatfor an open circuit when the dry heating element does not function .
Thermostat is located under the tub, close to the pump.Please make sure the circuit breaker is off , when replacing this thermostat
